THE HAMBURGER HOCHBAHN AG The Hamburger Hochbahn AG (HOCHBAHN) is a company organised and managed according to private sector principles owned by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. As the second largest local public transport company in Germany with some 5000 employees we are the biggest partner in the Hamburg Public Transport Association (HVV). Together we get people where they want to go and carry Hamburg forward. About 1.2 million passengers travel with us every day, and the number is growing every year. On four U-Bahn and 111 bus lines, the HOCHBAHN provides high-quality public transport all around Hamburg. This is how we ensure a better climate, make less noise and keep the roads clear. We find solutions to redesign the mobility culture in our city, providing crucial impulses for urban development, improving the quality of life and making Hamburg a more attractive place to do business. We want to set mobility in the city without a car of your own as the new standard for travel. Reliability, quality and economic efficiency are the cornerstones of our daily work. The HOCHBAHN is among the most successful local public transport companies anywhere in Europe.
